Spiral Galaxies ( Milky Way)

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Spiral_galaxy

spiral galaxy is a certain kind of galaxy originally described by Edwin Hubble in his 1936 work The Realm of the Nebulae and, as such, forms part of the Hubble sequence. Spiral galaxies consist of a flat, rotating disk containing starsgas and dust, and a central concentration of stars known as the bulge. These are surrounded by a much fainter halo of stars, many of which reside in globular clusters.
Spiral galaxies are named for the spiral structures that extend from the center into the disk. The spiral arms are sites of ongoing star formation and are brighter than the surrounding disk because of the young, hot OB stars that inhabit them.

To a layman on Earth it might seem that God is churning the galaxies by tying them in a big snake like rope and then from the central disc of the galaxy vaious objects will come out like our planets.
Instead as stated above the Galaxies consist of a flat rotating dics contaning stars, planets, gas and dust. The churning does not happen due to a snake( Our Milky way on Earth appears like a snake to the naked eye) like rope but due to the Gravitational pull of the stars, planets, gases etc. This all is a subject of higher level Physics, Astronomy etc. We need to study all that and my future posts might be a bit helpful.
