The Dietary Changes Behind Lebron James’ Dramatic Weight Loss.

http://www.womenshealthmag.com/weight-loss/lebron-james-weight-loss

LeBron James is used to making headlines. But lately, he’s been in the news not because of his mad skills on the basketball court but for his recent plunge in body weight. In August, the four-time NBA MVP, who’s ready to suit up again for the Cleveland Cavaliers after four years in Miami, shared a few Instagram pics of himself that revealed a leaner, way more ripped frame. And though he won’t say how many pounds he’s shed, he’s opening up about how he did it.
“No carbs, no sugar, no dairy,” he told CNN’s Rachel Nichols in an interview that aired on her show, Unguarded. James divulged that for 67 days, his meals consisted of nothing but meat, fish, veggies, and fruit. “I’m in the 250-ish range," he says. "A lot lighter than I’ve been playing at the last few years, but I feel good." He also says that, while he didn't follow thediet to improve his basketball game (he did it as a mental challenge), he's quicker on the court now.
This isn’t the first time James has switched up his diet; he reportedly gave up candy during the 2013 off-season.
James is hardly the first person to become trimmer and more energetic after swearing off refined sugar and the processed foods loaded with them.

Because there are BETTER ways to lose weight.

You know you can't believe everything you read. And still, you haven't eaten an egg yolk since the nineties, and you can't touch a French fry without being saddled with guilt. Oh, and don't even get us started on the whole don't-eat-after-8-p.m.-or-else mentality. Let's set the record straight once and for all by calling out these 25 worst diet tips—and offering up smart food rules to follow instead.
Fat Makes You Fat
It depends on the type of fats you're eating, says Tricia Psota, R.D., a nutritionist based in Washington D.C. "Fats in chips, cookies, and greasy foods can increase cholesterol and your risk for certain diseases. But good fats, like those found in nuts, avocados, and salmon, protect your heart and support your overall health." And when paired with a healthy diet, the right fats can help keep you from being, well, fat, adds Sharon Palmer, R.D., author of The Plant-Powered Diet. (Check out this list of the best fats you should be eating.)

Pseudocoelomate.

The other platyzoan phyla are mostly microscopic and pseudocoelomate. The most prominent are the Rotifera or rotifers, which are common in aqueous environments. They also include the Acanthocephala or spiny-headed worms, the Gnathostomulida, Micrognathozoa, and possibly the Cycliophora. These groups share the presence of complex jaws, from which they are called the Gnathifera.

Platyzoa.

The Platyzoa include the phylum Platyhelminthes, the flatworms. These were originally considered some of the most primitive Bilateria, but it now appears they developed from more complex ancestors.A number of parasites are included in this group, such as the flukes and tapeworms.Flatworms are acoelomates, lacking a body cavity, as are their closest relatives, the microscopic Gastrotricha.

Nematoda.

The ecdysozoans also include the Nematoda or roundworms, perhaps the second largest animal phylum. Roundworms are typically microscopic, and occur in nearly every environment where there is water.A number are important parasites.Smaller phyla related to them are the Nematomorpha or horsehair worms, and the Kinorhyncha, Priapulida, and Loricifera. These groups have a reduced coelom, called a pseudocoelom.

The remaining two groups of protostomes are sometimes grouped together as the Spiralia, since in both embryos develop with spiral cleavage.

Ecdysozoa.

The Ecdysozoa are protostomes, named after the common trait of growth by moulting or ecdysis. The largest animal phylum belongs here, the Arthropoda, including insects, spiders, crabs, and their kin. All these organisms have a body divided into repeating segments, typically with paired appendages. Two smaller phyla, the Onychophora and Tardigrada, are close relatives of the arthropods and share these traits.
